Course Outline
Module 1:
Awareness (Weeks 1-3) - Understanding Your Leadership Nervous System
Great leadership begins with self-awareness. This phase introduces key nervous system and mindfulness concepts and helps leaders develop a deep understanding of their own nervous system.
Week 1
The Biology of Leadership - Introduction to Polyvagal Theory and its impact on leadership effectiveness, decision-making, and emotional intelligence.
Week 2
Becoming a Mindful Observer – Recognising your nervous system states and their impact on communication, relationships, and leadership style.
Week 3
Mapping Your Leadership Patterns – Identify stress responses, triggers, and how they shape your leadership approach.
Week 4
Building a Leadership Regulation Toolkit – Develop practices that enhance focus, decision-making, and emotional resilience.
Week 5
Moving from Reaction to Response – Cultivate the ability to pause, assess, and engage with clarity and intention.
Week 6
Managing Leadership Energy – Prevent burnout, maintain balance, and lead with sustained effectiveness.
Module 3:
Relate (Weeks 7-9)
The Art of Nervous System-Aware Leadership
Leaders shape cultures through their ability to connect. This phase focuses on fostering trust, psychological safety, and high-functioning teams.
Week 7
Recognising Nervous System States in Your Team – Learn how to identify and support the emotional and physiological states of your team members.
Week 8
Co-Regulation & High-Trust Leadership – Cultivate environments of psychological safety and team cohesion.
Week 9
Nervous System-Aware Communication – Strengthen your ability to lead through presence, deep listening, and attuned interactions.
Week 10
Shaping a Nervous System-Aware Organisational Culture – Apply nervous system insights to leadership development, team dynamics, and workplace performance.
Week 11
Leading with Innovation & Creativity – Explore how regulated, connected leaders inspire innovation, agility, and long-term success.

While it offers tools for self-awareness and growth, it’s not a replacement for therapy. If you're dealing with trauma, we recommend consulting a therapist to ensure this aligns with your journey. Our goal is to provide a supportive space for self-reflection in a group, please make sure this approach feels right for you.
